Dark versus Light

Twelve years passed,
Trouble had come.
Dark rumors heard,
This is the end.
A large man,
Wrapped in a black cloak.
Inside the hood,
Anoise,
Sniffing,
To catch an elusive scent.
Head turning,
Side to side,
Searching the road,
Hardly daring to breath.
Hand moving,
Slowly.
Darkness,
Looming through the mist.
Dark pathches,
Growing darker,
Shrinking.
A song begins,
A cold murmur.
Rising,
Falling,
Seeming far away.
Immeasurably dreary,
Sometimes high in the air,
Sometimes low like a moan,
Coming from the ground.
Horrible sounds,
Strings of words,
Grim,
Hard,
Cold,
Heartless,
Miserable,
Words.
Night railing against morning,
Cold cursing warmth,
Chilled to the marrow.
Suddenly,
A string of nonsense words.
Darkness vanished,
Avoice rises up,
Loud and clear.
Burst into song,
Voice floating.
Standing upon the threshold,
Golden light,
All about.
Darkness gone.
