Confusion

Everything changes
Till it’s back at square one
For one squared is one
And under the sun
Everything’s golden
And under the clouds
Everything’s down
And gloomy
But its all upside down
And to turn everything around
Is upside down’s upside down
It’s all like a circle
You turn and you turn
But you can’t figure out
Which way is straight
It’s all the same
Too strange is normal
Too normal is strange
We beg for change
While we’re scared of change
I watch from a distance
Yet I know it’s true
We’re more than just a mass
Of green and blue
But maybe we’re not
Or maybe so
With the moon in the sky
Winking at us
Inviting us to it’s mysteries
Is the real moon below us?
Do we all sit upon
Another world
Does a trillion light-years away
Have no price to pay?
Just around the corner
Is that the passageway?
Which one of us parasites
Will repair the damage?
Who’ll take the deadly holes of wonder
That plunged us down under
And made us insane
Who
Who will take that
And put on a bandage
Who will tighten the few screws loose?
Who will cut the noose
We tied as the tides ignored us?
With the sky ignoring us
We wonder why the stars ignore us
And why the universe won’t write us a letter
To make it all better
That has all the answers
But there’s no chance
Confusion twists its knots
Spins its locks, anchors its blocks
Seals it shut, we ask what
And it leaves not a shred
Of direction behind
And so we are blind
But do we need our eyes repaired
Or can we all just share
The wonder as a blessing
So it stops messing
With all of us?
Messing with all of us
All of them
All of you
Everyone
Everything
Even
Even
Even
Messing with me
Day after day
Messing with me
I apologize
Let me close my eyes
For once
And for all
