Black Raven

Lost in the streets of chaos.
Cigarette butts and "if you musts" crowd the cracked road.
The screams have faded into a silent whisper
just hovering above sidewalks.

A ghost among the crowd, calling for help
but no one hears.
A black raven perched upon her "i'm sorrys" and "will you pleases"
only to watch her unmoving movements.

She's running as fast as she can
but she's getting nowhere.
A little girl, innocence gone
beaten by reality.

She knows life sucks. She knows her life
has become a simple board game,
toyed with and mistreated.
and the black raven calls.

Her dirty cheeks are stained with tears,
stained with sin, and her tattered clothes
show no comfort or luxury.
and the black raven calls.

This ghost town is burdened with her secret.
A secret unknown to they themselves.
They know a life is at stake
but they do nothing.

And the black raven calls,
knowing her misery.
How every single passing day
is the worst day of her life.

She's begging to God to just stab her through the heart.
She's begging Him to end her misery and her pain.
And the black raven calls
and grabs her by her dreams.

He lifts her from her silent pain
and carries her into the clouds, into a heaven unknown
and the girl cries. cries tears of joy.
A happiness swells in her heart, filling every gap and hole.
and she thanks the bird.

Many days past
the little girl is found
dead.

And the black raven calls.
