Double Edged Sword

Love is a double edged sword.

Falling in love is easy, simple.
Falling out of love can nearly kill you.

Love can bring you laughs and happiness.
It can also bring you tears and agony.

Love can make you feel strong and invincible.
It can also make you feel weak and defenseless.

Love can take you to the highest peaks of delight and rose-color your world.
It can also take you to the deepest levels of despair and ruin it.

“It’s better to have loved and lost, than never to have loved at all”
Is it true?
Most definitely.

You see how much joy love brings and you want it.
You get a taste of the damage it could do and you turn against it.

You surround yourself with emotional walls,
Make them tall and wide.

The walls hide your fear and keep out all the bad,
But you don’t realize you’re also keeping out the good.

Live, Love and Learn.

You can’t know true happiness until you’ve known pain.
You can’t find true love unless you truly love.

Tearing down the walls is not easy, but absolutely necessary.
Without love you merely exist.
To live you have to love.
