Glass

A reflection says nothing like a picture.
Glass painted reflective shows pain,
I’m sorry I made you feel that way,
The blood on my hands is half my own, I suppose.

Forever alone I was only hoping it was you who’d understand.
In a never ending line you only fought me again.
I gave you my truth and my feelings,
You told me it was lies and called me out, bluffing.

Into the mirror, what do you want me to see?
I’ll tell you what is there,
But you’ll get enraged and call me a liar.
What else did you leave me to do?

I’ll take you hand if you promise me silence,
Allow me to follow silently behind you.
The more pills I take the farther I feel,
It’s my world that’s slowly falling apart.

Calling them excuses as you release my hand,
I fall to the ground and you wish you’d left me to die,
I’ve proven to you the truth,
I’m sorry I made you feel that way.

Into the mirror, what do you want me to see?
I’ll tell you what is there,
But you’ll get enraged and call me a liar.
What else did you leave me to do?

It was the lies you pulled through,
Saving only the part of me that belonged to you,
In a hollow state I keep in touch and hold my heart,
But you took that from me, leaving me broken and apart.

Lust and compassion drove you to insanity,
On the brink you rocked, in fear of losing me,
In one fatal leap we both sailed through the air,
But sank quickly to the rocks in the bay below.
