I Swear She's an Angel

My pleas continue to be unanswered...
Half heartedly acknowledge,
by condescending families.

Not once have they stopped to
look into my eyes,
to notice my pain,
to hear my desperate cries.

What have I ever done to deserve this?
What pain have I ever caused?
How could I belong in this hell?
There must've been some mistake...
Is there anybody out there?
Can anybody hear my prayers?

Just when I begin to lose all hope,
just when my faith begins to fade...
You glide out of the shadows,
a sad smile across your face.
Right at the moment that I pick you as my saviour
the others with unanswered prayers spot you.
You beinging my only hope, I patiently wait.
Only once did I remind you of the goal...
Make it to my personal hell, that's all I want.
I wait, and wait.
And again I begin to give up hope.
Then I notice, a tear falling from your eye.
My attention is all on you as you say
one last goodbye to the ones you couldn't save.
You slowly float, as if on air?, to my wretched cage.

Atlast! I've met my saviour!
My beautiful saviour.
And for the first time, I truly believe in the god I've been praying to.
I try to show you my appreciation, but you seem not to notice.
Or do you not care?
My pleas go unheard, my tears unseen...
You rise from your place by my side and walk away.

I plead with you not to go, I beg of you to stay.
You continue to walk away...
One last cry for help is all I can do.
Again my prayers go unanswered,
and I retreat to my corner with no more will to fight.

I thought you would save me.
I thought you were an angel, floating on air.
I thought you'd be the one!
I thought wrong, you're exactly like the rest.
You let me down as well, leaving me in this little chunk of chain-linked hell.

Wallowing in my self pity,
I don't notice the jingle of the lock.
I don't see you coming until you're right in my face.
Could it be? Is this for real?
I can barely contain my excitement as you exclaim:
"Come on boy, you're with me...I've got a great home for you."

You answered my prayers,
my cries have been heard.
A saviour in black floats by my side..
I swear she's an angel... She was sent specifically for me.
