Strangers

I sat there, I’m no one
Just a faded face
I hummed a silent tune
As you strummed along too
And you looked bewildered at my face
And all the messes that were made
But it’s noth-thing now

Do you remember when we were strangers?
Living, caught-up in our own worlds
You looked beyond the screams of the crowd
And you smiled, just at me
You took my hand
Said, “You’re beautiful
And you deserve all the love in the world”
Suddenly we weren’t strangers anymore

I’m not one to take risks
But you pulled me in too deep
I started to have questions
When you whispered you loved me
Am I scared of love,
Or just scared of bein’ hurt?
Either way you drowned out all my questions
With your lips on mine

Do you remember when we were strangers?
Living, caught-up in our own worlds
You looked beyond the screams of the crowd
And you smiled, just at me
You took my hand
Said, “You’re beautiful
And you deserve all the love in the world”
Suddenly we weren’t strangers,

And even when you weren’t with me
I knew you’d always care
And even with those midnight fights,
You were always there
You said I was the only one for you
And I sat there, all alone
Thinkin’ everything through...

And I said:

“Do you remember when we were strangers?
We were livin’, caught-up in our own worlds
I was a no one, but you looked beyond the crowd
And you smiled, just at me
And remember when you took my hand,
You said I was beautiful
You gave me all the love in the world
And suddenly the thought of strangers,
Was no more
