Finders Keepers

And I'm burning down the armoire that kept all my secrets,
I'm not quite sure how I could be expected to keep it.
Twelve different lies over seventeen different years.
But no one will ever find out because I kept them all in, here.

Not anymore, theres not more skeletons to hide
And I, and I can no longer confide
In the polished armoire that hid the bodies.
(A murder is a murder, and a lie is a lie)

Burn it down, find out what I lied about.
I lit the match to throw it in
This is what we could have been

I don't stand as tall as I know I could,
And I'm only human He knew I would.

Seventeen years and twelve thousand lies,
(No I'm not I've got burning eyes)
I kept it here and I'm not so modest,
I tried and tried, nor am I honest.

Burn it down, find out what I lied about.
I lit the match to throw it in
This is how this should have been.

I don't stand as tall as I know I should
But He knew (he knows) I would.
