Rubies.

Deep burning red

Frozen yet flowing, like blood

Dancing with overwhelming passion

Like a possessive lover

Yet flirting with the fire in your furious eyes

Warming, soothing, pulsating light like

The dancing fire on a cold winter’s night

Drops of crystallized love, dangling from a golden chain

Inches from infatuation’s grasp

The entire spectrum of deadly flames, within one glittering orb

When you are pulled from the earth, you sit

Among the dirt like apples of the earth

Dripping from the branches, waiting

To be grasped by greedy hands longing for

Your approving stare of wisdom

Of the years captured in a single teardrop

Reaching for the soft glimmer of the roses trapped in a solid shell

Red, is not enough of a word

Too simple of a word, to describe

The elation, the joy of your summer mood

Or the peaceful repose during your autumn state of mind

The entire world, the entire shade of red

Resting on the shoes of a girl lost in a strange world.
