Rock Bottom

He tried to tune them out, tried to drown out all his troubles
Swallowed it all down, bottle after bottle
Maybe if he has enough booze
It’ll be the cure for this feeling he’s been trying to loose
But he can’t shake it off
Can’t crawl from the bottom and make it to the top
So he drinks some more, falling into a rut
His life and his dreams are all but stuck
His mother was a whore, his father a drunk
When you really think about it,
That’s probably where he got it all from
And he always considered his best friend a thing of Jack
Because it can’t tell him his faults
And all his personality cracks
He can’t decide if it’s worth it in the end
If everything that he drinks will help him comprehend
How he ended up here in a dead-end position
How he hit rock-bottom and can’t make the best
Of a broken situation
