Who She Was

Who she was, is a legend.
It’s nothing but a tale.

A story she tells her tired mind
when it screams for detail.

The pink ribbon had fallen,
From her locks long ago.

The gleam in her eyes
Had fallen with her bow.

She now sees the world
As a terrible place.

Not the fleeting beauty
She used to try to chase.

Her thoughts cried with her tired eyes
Asking what had changed?

She couldn’t find an answer though,
And so she grew derranged.
