Nobody Will Know

A lonely girl lost in a lonely world
Watching so closely as faces swirl.
Fighting off demons that she can't see.
Holding out her hand, crying helplessly.
Hidden dangers lurking, waiting for dark
To grab her flame and extinguish her spark.
Hands clutching tightly to her clothes and skin,
Trying to pull her down to the depths within.
Smirking faces haunting with eyes glowing red.
Remembering all the things that the demons said.
Closing her eyes and pretending she's not there,
As hands forcefully run all through her hair.
The night turns things blacker and she tries to run,
Hoping this living nightmare is almost done.
Hands on her neck and squeezing her heart.
But a soul can't be torn once it's been ripped apart.
Thoughts clouding her mind as she tries to think,
As hands drag her down and pull her to the brink.
She tries to fight, tells herself they aren't real.
Trying to block out the pain that she has to feel.
But faces keep swirling and hands won't let go.
When she's finally pulled under, nobody will know.
