Back and Forth

Waves rolling back and forth,
Lapping the sandy shore,
Tossing rocks and shells,
Dragging in the seaweed.
Foam collects where the water ends,
And the salty smell fills the air.
The crashing of waves sound.
The sand is soft and warm under my toes,
The water cooling it,
Changing it from hot to cold.
The wind blows softly,
Streaming through my hair
And across my face.
Its as if there is only peace,
No war, just peace.
Then seagulls sing proudly,
Breaking the silence,
Breaking the serenity.
As I walk away the landscape fades.
The sun sets quietly
But the waves still roll,
Back and forth.
