Games

Find the jumbled masses of
Nondescript, written on half inch lines
The things I’ll never tell you
Leave it undefined

The words are over used & over played
They don’t do justice to the means
The things I don’t plan on saying

But if you could watch the rain fall
Back into the sky
If you stole the color of a butterfly
Maybe then I’d tell you

Tell you everything I thought I’d never say
And everything and nothing is holding me back
A slip of the tongue could ruin
The fragility we’ve forged

Security and Loneliness cements into us
All for the smile you bring
Swallow my words back down whole
Would you notice if I chocked
On the ropes they tie us with

We are hung in a precarious situation
A small jolt can topple the entire game
For is this not a game we play

We sway back and forth
Too and fro
Trying to find solid ground
That always falls away

Because just when I’m tempted to speak
The world shifts
Disoriented,
Disfigured,
Disengaged
You walk away from me
