Everyone Wants, What They Can't Have.

So there once was a girl of about 18.
She never prayed
But she didn’t really need it.
She was a dancer and a singer in perfect form.

Everyone was jealous of this girl;
They always wished that they would someday be her.
But they didn’t know inside
That everything was collapsing on her.

She only wanted to be truly cared for.
No one sees her true feelings.
How could they? When she never really mentioned

She was so trapped inside
She wanted to rip her heart out.
And give it up for grabs.
But she takes it back so she doesn’t get destroyed

Because everyone wants what they can’t have.

So there was a boy of about 20.
He never shared his intentions with anyone.
He bottled up his thoughts
So his friends wouldn’t think bad.

All he wanted was to be noticed
For the true things he really put his mind to.
How could he? When all he was worried about
Was what people thought of him
He never really mentioned

He was so bored with himself.
The friends weren’t enough.
He was missing one true thing.
That he couldn’t quite figure out.

Because everyone wants what they can’t have.

The years go by and still they cannot find
The things they desire most.
Just foolish people in an empty steeple
Reciting their vows as they drink through the night not stopping once for air.
They really didn’t care.

Having no clue what is to come
Their lives have just become
Worse than before.

He got bored with her.
She felt trapped up inside by him.
Too many fights, long drunken nights.
They left each other to starve for life.
Always wanting more than they already had.

Because everyone wants what they can’t have.

As they fight the many demons they face from time to time
They finally give up.
They stumble upon each other in a peaceful place.
White and showered in light.

And so the girl of 18 and the boy of 20 walk down the golden path
Through the clouds holding hands
They walk away from the gates and make their way
To the life no one wants to have.
