The Nature of the Night
The sun went to sleep
The moon now rules the sky
With its bright arrogant shine
The stars wink at the Earth far below them
Carefree and curious
The blanket of black that holds them close
Allowed them to peek out from the covers
But come morning, they will retire to sleep
Same as the moon, with its bright arrogant shine
And sun all-mighty sun will awaken
Until the evening when it feels sleepy again
The moon now rules the sky
With its bright arrogant shine
The stars wink at the Earth far below them
Carefree and curious
The blanket of black that holds them close
Allowed them to peek out from the covers
But come morning, they will retire to sleep
Same as the moon, with its bright arrogant shine
And sun all-mighty sun will awaken
Until the evening when it feels sleepy again
