Don't Come Back

Knowing, breathing
Those are the last two gifts.
You and me,
We weren’t meant to be.
But I’ll always,
Look back with a grin.
‘Cause those were the days I was happy,
Maybe I could return to them again?

But no I wouldn’t,
No I couldn’t.
Not if I had the chance,
Not even if you begged me on your knees.
Going back to those days,
Would be the end.
And I’ve done some growin’,
Since then.

That life’s gone,
And this one’s here.
Hope you don’t mind,
I took the time to write this m’dear.
Hope you know I think about you,
Hope you know I’m great without you.
But no I wouldn’t,
No I couldn’t.
Not if I had the chance,
Not even if you begged me on your knees.
Going back to those days,
Would be the end.
And I’ve done some growin’,
Since then.

You probably won’t listen to this even twice,
Although I hope you do,
Cause then I’ll be on your mind.
But no,
No you won’t be on mine.
She might be dressed to impress,
But we both know.
Know that she ain’t got nothin’ on me.
Don’t come back now, little doggie.

But no I wouldn’t,
No I couldn’t.
Not if I had the chance,
Not even if you begged me on your knees.
Going back to those days,
Would be the end.
And I’ve done some growin’,
Since then.
