Drowning Lessons

I was slowly going underwater.
I held her hand as the depth of the water took away my breath.
Fire rose deep inside my lungs.
I felt like I was slowly drifting into bliss with her.
She was mine and I always promised this.
We had champagne wishes beyond us.
My eyes closed.
My brain stopped.
My heart quit beating.
I was on my way.
Whether Heaven or Hell I can't decide.
As long as she's with me I will be fine.
We drifted on.
Like phantoms forever.~
