It's a Lonely World Out There

She walks into an empty house
The room silently carries her away
She looks and sees all those memories
With the man who stole took her heart astray
He was suppose to be back six months ago
But she got a call that things’ve changed
Now she’s sitting home alone,
As he fights for another’s human’s rights

They say,
It’s a lonely world out there
We shed too many tears,
We have too many sorrows
And all too many fears,
We need to stop just for a moment,
And look past the fact,
That,
It’s a lonely world out there
-A lonely world out there

He looks down as they pass him by
He doesn’t want them to know,
That their words hurt and are making things worse,
Than what’s going on at home
They think he’s a nobody, with his head in the books
That he’s got no friends and his looks are a curse
But they don’t know all the hurt he’s been through
And they’re just adding to the tears he sheds

They say,
It’s a lonely world out there
We shed too many tears,
We have too many sorrows
And all too many fears,
We need to stop just for a moment,
And look past the fact,
That,
It’s a lonely world out there
-A lonely world out there

She remembers their last kiss and that tragic phone call
He said he’d be back; he was just going to the store
But that goodbye was the final one
The officer called at eight fifty-one,
Said he’d been hit by a drunk driver,
And her world came crashing down
She never knew it before;
She never knew all the heartbreak,

They say,
It’s a lonely world out there
We shed too many tears,
We have too many sorrows
And all too many fears,
We need to stop just for a moment,
And look past the fact,
That,
It’s a lonely world out there
-A lonely world out there
