It's a Masquerade My Dear

It's a masquerade my dear. They flawlessly hide their fears. From the eyes of a stranger they see nothing but a facade of costume and mirror.

Reality fades with their judgement. The guests for now aren't themselves. A masque of true character is lovely in their minds. Each hopeful lady flaunts her new dress, wishing to cover the hideous mess.
Fragments of glass shattered a jagged refuse to reveal the face underneath. Even in tradgedy the masques reamin stagnant in refusal of news of such utter despair. They walk in flawless strides and dance their perfect steps, never taking notice of the world in distress.

It's a masquerade my dear. They flawlessly hide their fears. From the eyes of a stranger they see nothing but a facade of costume and mirror.

A crash of a vanity. A tipping bureau. The girls steady their beauty as life starts to fall. Their little worlds twirl as they acquire a gleam. Men at their sides and a little bit tipsy. Too bad the men were a dream.
As long as their pretty, nothing else matters. Their lives may be tragically torn. But with their occasion- a little excuse- they laughed as they sipped on their tampered with juice.

It's a masquerade my dear. They flawlessly hide their fears. From the eyes of a stranger they see nothing but a facade of costume and mirror.

They have no regrets as their dancing away. The world may be fading but they haven't a care with their beautiful faces and beautiful hair. No regrets in their world. Those don't exist. And why? Nothing is real in a fantasy.

It's a masquerade my dear. They flawlessly hide their fears. From the eyes of a stranger they see nothing but a facade of costume and mirror and mirror. From the eyes of a stranger they see nothing but that facade of costume and mirror.

Just a little diddy I wrote on Spring Break when traveling in the car. Hope you liked it.

Rated PG-13 for references to alcohol.

It was originally a poem, but I'm working on a melody to make it into a song. Let me know if you want to hear more of my original song lyrics. I have quite a few.

Please don't plagarize. This is my own piece and I worked hard on it. :)
