Hiding From Myself

I let my demons in through the back door
Hung my heart up on the wall
Let their hate destroy it all

Woke up the next morning with a frown
Turn my feelings upside down
Hiding in my mask, I drown

The real me has never seen the light of day, all I’ve done is fall apart along the way.
My mind just isn’t screwed in right, it includes hearing, but I don’t have sight.

I caught all my feelings in a fragile jar
Hid it on my highest shelf
Lying to the world, and myself

Chains like boa constrictors around my limbs
The chilling weight holds me back
The shadows get ready to attack

The real me has never seen the light of day, all I’ve done is fall apart along the way.
My mind just isn’t screwed in right, it includes hearing, but I don’t have sight.

This never-ending game
Of hide-and-go-seek
It’s making me quiet
It’s making me weak

They all stopped looking
For me long ago
I’m left with a mirror
And I can’t let go

I let my demons in through the back door
Hung my heart up on the wall
Let their hate destroy it all

The real me has never seen the light of day, all I’ve done is fall apart along the way.
My mind just isn’t screwed in right, it includes hearing, but I don’t have sight.
