Monsters Do Exist

Monsters: they walk amongst us everyday,
And many, with their lives, they will pay.
Some old, some young,
Like a horrible song, that has to be sung.
They're out amongst us now,
They hunt, out on the prowl.
Friends, family, strangers, and foes,
If they are a monster, no one knows.
They kill man off, one by one,
They won't stop until the job is done.
Don't listen to your parents when they say monsters aren't real,
Just watch the news, and you'll see the real deal.
They walk amongst us, and probably talk to you,
But when you look at them, you don't see the real damage they can do.
Their weapons may not be teeth and claws,
But that doesn't stop them from breaking the laws.
They kill with knives and guns,
None of them thinking, 'what have I done'.
They get off on the hunt, off on the kill,
To them, it's a roller coaster thrill,
And they just can't get their fill.
Many victims will be abducted, others murdered,
Like they're a herd of sheep, the monster their shepherd.
Many don't make it, past twenty-four hours,
Just like a princess, locked in a tower.
They'll cry and beg and wait for a savior,
As they stare into the cold eyes of their neighbor.
See, monsters don't care who you are,
Because to them, your end isn't so far.
So when someone says monsters don't exist,
Well, riddle me this:
What kind of world do we live in, where rapist and murderers can thrive,
But we can't believe that monsters are alive?
