We Remember
Once upon a time, many times in fact
There was a hint of struggle, of strife
In the lands far away, and those all too near
Powdery explosions, and crimson red smears
Once upon a time, and many times since
A child was left waiting
For a father, a mother
A soldier who never came home
Once upon a time, oh so many times
A soldier stood ground, stood through the fear
For a country, an ideal, for family and love
These soldiers stood, in a place we never did
And now, for those soldiers
Those wives and those sons
We remember our soldiers
Who stood up for us
Beneath an ash and blood sun
There was a hint of struggle, of strife
In the lands far away, and those all too near
Powdery explosions, and crimson red smears
Once upon a time, and many times since
A child was left waiting
For a father, a mother
A soldier who never came home
Once upon a time, oh so many times
A soldier stood ground, stood through the fear
For a country, an ideal, for family and love
These soldiers stood, in a place we never did
And now, for those soldiers
Those wives and those sons
We remember our soldiers
Who stood up for us
Beneath an ash and blood sun
