Terrible Three

It was obvious to anyone with eyes,
They all clicked, while she fell behind.

Why is it always so hard to say goodbye?
As they have all shown, she doesn’t matter to them.
So why should it matter to her with these last words?

For the record, she will never regret,
Until the day she dies, she will cherish it all,
Not one single memory with them will be ruined.

While she hurries to get away
Hoping that they won’t see a single tear shed
In her she finds herself smiling an angry grin.
Laughing, she remembers saying this would happen.
Even though they said not to worry, she shouldn’t of listened.

In the end all goodbyes are hard,
To those you love are all the harder.

Long glances, shattered heart,
And as one tear falls down her cheek,
She turns her back to them, hoping to move on.
To them, it doesn’t even matter.
Even though the magical number four is
Done for, replaced by the terrible three.
