Fearless for Music

Fearless for Music
By: Quinton J. Hobson

Once in a land of far away
All music was forbade
However, there was this one girl
Who never was afraid

Her music was her one true love
And she never did fear
If any nosy passerby’s
Would ever stop and stare

She used to sing inside her house
At home, at work, at play
And even with a reprimand
She’d sing and walk away

She played a million instruments
And knew a trillion songs
And each had its own genre
Though the people thought it wrong

Rewards were posted in the streets
To capture this one child
But caused by all the failed attempts
The soldiers just ran wild

Prizes were offered by the king
To seize this one brave soul
And all the villagers then joined in
But failed to reach their goals

The Queen offered them jewelry
And said, “Off with her head!”
However this brave child escaped
And never was brought dead

This girl still dances through the town
And sings for all to hear
Although so many threaten her
She shows no signs of fear
