Editing Reality

Take a picture,
Any kind of picture,
And add some touches,
To make it "better."

Crop out the flaws,
Re-size the length,
Brighten or darken the "stale looking" image,
Whichever one works with the contrast.

Change the color,
To hide the "problems"
Or "imperfections,"
That makes the image "ugly."

Black and white, sepia,
Any color you like,
Just hide those scary areas,
And let it shine in person.

Smooth out the texture,
The skin looks too "dry,"
Or rough out the surface,
For that grainy look,

Add a frame or a text bubble,
Some graffiti can be a nice touch,
Finish and the save the new and "improved" picture,
And you can thank Photoshop later.

Take a picture,
Any kind of picture,
And add some touches,
To make it "better."

The picture may look nice,
But it's not the same as the one you took,
You're only hiding what makes you special,
And that is the cold hard truth.

Take a picture,
Any kind of picture,
And keep it the same,
The way that it is.

It will always be better
Than a candy coated copy,
Because of one quality,
The truth in the matter.
