Emily Meets an Angel

Sitting alone in the attic
whispering to her beloved friend
an old bear with two button eyes
and a warm smile
"What's going to happen today?"
she whispers ever so softly
hoping mother couldn't hear.
"EMILY!!!" mother screamed
sounding furious and pained
"Why haven't you cleaned the stove yet!?"
she asked as she smacked Emily across the face
she fell to the floor, her bear slid across the room.
"Who gave you this!?" mother shouted,
"This ugly thing kept you from your work!
I guess now it's mine...
now clean the stove and go to bed!
no dinner again tonight you rotten child!"
mother ripped up the bear piece by piece
and walked away leaving the remains
for Emily's teary eyes too see.
She then cleaned the stove
and ran upstairs with what was left of her friend
she cried herself to sleep that night.
The next morning,
Emily decided to defend for herself
at six years old, its hard to do.
Emily walked into her mothers room
and announced that she was done
Her mother responded quite horribly,
"You're done? YOU'RE DONE!?
I WILL SHOW YOU WHAT DONE IS!"
She grabbed Emily's shoulder and dragged her up the stairs,
"THIS IS WHAT DONE MEANS!"
Mother shouted, as she took a steak knife out of her pocket
and jabbed Emily in the stomach.
"You'll be done here in a few minutes. Happy? Because I am"
Mother said with a smirk
she went down stairs and back to bed
and left Emily to slowly die.
Emily, softly crying in pain
fell to the ground
nearly dead.
Just then, an angel appeared
She took Emily's hand.
"Hello Emily. I know you're in pain
but just listen real quick.
How would you like to go to a place
where the sun always shines
and the kids have fun all day long.
In the evening,
you can eat 'till your hearts content
and sleep in glorious beds for a king
every night.
Where I live there is no such thing
as mean people.
Mean people are not allowed."
The angel helped Emily off of the ground
and rubbed her hand on the wound.
"There, all better Emily. Now join me
and my family above."
