Lighting Our Paths

Fields of weeds grow throughout the heart of man
They're roots thickening by the passing of the sun and moon
Our tears give them sustenance, feeding off our sorrow
All the while she stands there, at the gate of our hearts
Merely an apparition of our desires, silent and unreal
But the feeling is tangible isn't it? Anger, peace, love and hate
All aspects of emotion she invokes make her real
As real as the wind and the light shining through the gray
My friend, what can she be if she is not real?
The personification of our desires lighting our paths?

A Love awakened.

Seasons pass under a darkened sky, loveless?
without regard to our hearts or desire
But alas, these emotions still find us

As I have found you, igniting this fire
A strong burning within, a love rising
I've found redemption within loves desire

I've looked upon this rising sun, dying
The cold taking me into its dark depths
But only in your absence, I'm crying

Now I see you once more and I'm smiling
My heart healed by your intrinsic beauty
I've found my true love, a fire igniting
