Runaway

she talks like a sex bomb
cigarette smoke in her lungs
she is riot's daughter
she is riot's son
she has always noticed
that girls like her hand's are rough
gaining a scar from everything they've touched*
rebel yell and mascara never went so well
she walks down the street and
the boys never say "she's swell"
they hide from the truth she gives birth to
they hide from the independence she's trying to give to me and you
Riot's daughter
riot's song, listen to her or be gone
Either way she's gaining speed, running away from inequality.

My first poem in a while. It might not being that great, seeing that I am more of a prose writer. But I wrote it to warm up on writing songs for my future band... lol

* the line "gaining a scar from everything they've touched"* is a nod towards the lyrics in the Hole Song "Softer, Softest" Courtney Love's lyrics being "I've got a blister from
Touching everything I see"
