Love, this is the last time
I let you make a fool of me.
Your ways should be an outlawed crime,
You opened my eyes and let me fully see.
Leave me alone,
Go bother someone else with your charms,
I want to be on my own,
Not trapped, always exposed to harm.
With you, life is dreary.
You make me wish for solitude.
My eyes are always teary,
And I’m told it’s just my attitude.
You are perfect only with God.
He is my Rock.
He steers me with His Rod.
When He knocks,
I open my heart’s door,
And now that He is in me,
My heart is restored.

Loved, lived, and lost.
Life keeps going on.
I ignore the pain of being tossed away,
And dry my eyes of tears shed.
To keep up appearances I stay,
Pretending to be pleased day by day.
While deep inside I feel my heart crumbling beyond repair.
But then I remember that You’re there,
And I feel peace swell up inside of me,
Like a river overflowing a dam.
You restore my heart and piece it back together again.
My faith is restored.
My heart is whole,
And I am joyful once again.

Life is fleeting.
We can never fully grasp its meaning.
Our lives are like the mist;
We desire to be in your midst.
Your love covers all,
You catch me when I fall.
My life, I dedicate to You, O Lord.
I pray to you and use your word as my sword.
When I’m with you,
Love springs forth anew.
You take me in your arms,
And save me from life’s harms.
The love you show,
We can never fully know.
Our minds refuse to dwell,
On the patience and love that You tell
Through Your glory and Your infinite mercy.
