Alternate Reality

It feels like truth but it’s not you’re a lie
And all this time, is ticking by
One more grain in the glass of sand
And you will become a better man

She spins a web of sterling silver
And he who walks in shall be trapped
She’s a menace, she’s a killer
And with her venomous craze you’ll be zapped

In her alternate reality
She’s someone she would never be
A sense of high self-pity
And a pinch of being witty
Maybe she’s just lonely
Or she’s just having fun,
No one should ever know
Her secret is a loaded gun.

She hates the way they stare at her
With drooling lips and eyes of scorn
As if she’s nothing but a whore
Whose heart is surely torn;

If only they knew how right they were
Maybe the guilt wouldn’t stick like a burr
But who said you were perfect
And who said he was worth it!

In her alternate reality
She’s someone she would never be
A sense of high self-pity
And a pinch of being witty
Maybe she’s just lonely
Or she’s just having fun
No one should ever know
Her secret is a loaded gun.

It all feels perfect, but she knows it’s a lie
Her heart took over and left her to die
In the arms of a perfect stranger
Who unintentionally deranged her;

And she’s standing at a cross road
Deciding what to do,
If she should step across that line
Into something new,

Because in her alternate reality
She’s someone she would never be
A sense of high-self pity
And a pinch of being witty
And it’s true, she’s very lonely
But her head plays games of fun
As she clicks her last goodbye
From a secret loaded gun.
