Waiting For You

Strolling in the park
I see all these couples holding each others hands.
It's cold outside and I see this girl without a jacket.
She's on a bench siting there rubbing her hands across her arms.
A boy walks up behind her.
He has on a leather jacket.
The boy takes it off and it puts it around the girl.

There's another girl on a bridge.
She looks like she's in her mid-twenties.
A man comes up and covers her eyes with his hands.
She turns around and the man is holding a bouquet of roses and daisies.
A card is in the flowers and it says "Happy 5th Anniversary!"
The woman has the biggest smile on her face.
The man begins to hold the woman in her arms tightly.

There's one girl waiting for her lover.
She's sitting on a blanket that has white and red plaid squares on it.
She's looking around and there she spots him.
He's the one who is holding the coffee in his hands.
He goes to her and sits down.
They kiss and there life goes on.

Then there is me.
I'm here alone in the park.
Sitting by myself.
Reading a book.
I think to myself.
I will never be good enough for anyone.
I will never be pretty.
I will never have the perfect body.
Before I continue reading my book.
I take one more glance at all the happy couples.
Hoping that one day that will be me some day.
