Sick Exhaustion

She's standing there,
Taking in his anger,
And her skin is turning hot.
The heat is building up,
Making her palms damp with sweat,
And her face flushed with anger of her own.
She just can't take it anymore.
Steam rolls out from between her lips in the form of words,
Burning and scorching him until he can't help but take a step back.
He's unsure how to deal with this dragon,
Now that he's set her off,
So he just returns her anger
Until they're both huffing and puffing.
Then they're crying and broken together,
The anger turning to sick exhaustion.
