Little Did They Know

There's a girl,
so alone and cold.
There's a boy,
who will never make it-
or so he's told.

The girl is beautiful
inside and out
she'd never judge you, or put you down
she'd be there for anyone
she might be the nicest around.

The boy is a dreamer,
so hopeful and determined.
He wasn't into sports,
He liked math.
His father wasn't proud of that.

The kids at school,
so naive and unkind,
pushed them around;
as if they were beating them with words.
little did they know,
on the boy's body there was no place without a bruise.

One day the kids recall
the little boy didn't show for school.
They all laughed, and called him a coward.
Little did they know,
his father snapped and has been too cruel.

The little girl cried,
they all just snickered.
They never understood that she kept it all on the inside,
until one day the teacher softly told them she had died.

How had a girl so young,
taken her own life.
There her mother had found her, hung.
She wrote that every word she was ever told, stung.

The kids at school cried,
they had been so hurtful.
Although at the time they didn't realize.
Now they were murderers in eachother's eyes.
