Carved to Perfection

Small flakes from the sky
carved so delicately,
Pieces of ice
of which I envy so jealously.

So perfect and unique
drifting down from the sky,
I hold out my hand as it
melts in front of my eyes.

As a little kid
they fascinated me so much,
Now in my eyes
they were hated and such.

Looking around
so many new fashions,
I was lost as a nobody
losing the passion.

Buying Teen Vogue and Allure
and spending hundreds on makeup,
I craved to be like them
When would I wake up?

It hurt a bit
when I pierced tongue,
I stared in the mirror
What had I done?

Small flakes from the sky
carved so delicately,
Pieces of ice
of which I envy so jealously.

Each one so perfect.

I want to be perfect too.
