The Girl Who Saved the Princess

Once upon a time, a bright eyed princess dreamed of a love that would save her from the tower far far above the dark kingdom she had been locked in. The King held her against her will, conforming her into a small box, making her into someone she hates. Quiet, polite, a young woman he can control, command. So she sits in her tower each night, wishing on shooting stars for the one to love her in a way no other could, she wished for someone to save her from this cold place. Not sure of herself, or who she was. Sad, afraid and hurt beyond her own help. She waited, and as the days drug on she began losing hope..

Although it was forbidden a young peasant girl fell in love with the princess, sending her secret messages. Promising happiness, love and to save her. Time trickled by...agonizingly slow..the days drug on...waiting for the right time. She disguised herself to fit in with the maids. Slipping into the princess' cold dark room late that summer night.

The princess' eyes sparkled the brightest of bright. A smile that puts shame to the most beautiful angels reached her face. So beautiful she made the angels cry. She reached out for the warmest embrace, excited whispers exchanged. "I love you." Echoed in the room.

"As I love you my dear." Taking the princess by the hand, she leaned forward. As their lips touched her world shattered and her heart was stolen away. And with that she knew what they needed to do.

They stole away in the night, driving by pure love and honest fright. Young and in love, now they were free just as a dove.
