What heart?

What happens when your heart wants something it cant have?
It longs for it so much it starts to despise the very thing it loves
What becomes of a heart that cannot stop loving?
It shrivels up and stops working
But then it is revived by another life
Another love – something better than before
But there is that hole still there, void
Left by the very thing it loved so much
Nothing can fill the void but time - something that’s running out
Without love the heart still works;
But it works like a television playing static
Meaningless.
Worthless.
Useless.
Until that very day it can forget that it ever did love.
