An Ancient Grudge

I open my eyes to a dark room,
I move my arms, but they are chained.
I call out your name,
My voice is strained.

You never respond,
I get concerned,
Wha thas happened?
Have you been burned?

The fire burns bright,
My soul is devoured,
I cannot take this,
We've been overpowered.

He steps closer to me,
I stare him in the eye.
I won't go down without a fight,
I will not die.

He grabs hold of my chin,
And forces my eyes to look.
He smiles a devilish smile,
And breaks my hook.

I fall to the floor,
A scream seeping out,
He laughs a laugh,
I know he'll kill me, without a doubt.

I wonder where you are,
I wonder if you're okay.
Have they hurt you?
Do I have to make them pay?

The man takes out a dagger,
And runs it over his hand,
He turns to me,
And waves the dagger freehand.

I watch him intently,
As he comes closer.
I'm going to die,
I know that now.

A grudge held by my family and yours,
For something so little.
We have to take the torture,
We were caught in the middle.

He grabs my waist and holds me tight.
I cannot escape,
He holds the dagger high,
I glance at the moonscape.

He glares at me,
And brings the dagger down,
Into my heart,
Ceasing all my sound.

I am dead now,
And I still don't know what happened,
To the one that I loved,
To my one true love.
