Heart-Shaped
He looks at her with heart-shaped eyes
And she returns a smile
With the warmth of the heart of July
No voices of denial
He touches her with heart-shaped lips
Caresses her skin with care
She puts his hand atop of her hips
She is utterly unaware
Of another presence wanting
His attention, only a chance
To ease her feeling haunting
A solitaire lovers dance
I see his face is golden
I love his songbird voice
To me, his words embolden
A new destiny of choice
Alas, he has but eyes for her
And lips with which to kiss
It's clear which woman he prefers
And so I dream, I hope for bliss
And she returns a smile
With the warmth of the heart of July
No voices of denial
He touches her with heart-shaped lips
Caresses her skin with care
She puts his hand atop of her hips
She is utterly unaware
Of another presence wanting
His attention, only a chance
To ease her feeling haunting
A solitaire lovers dance
I see his face is golden
I love his songbird voice
To me, his words embolden
A new destiny of choice
Alas, he has but eyes for her
And lips with which to kiss
It's clear which woman he prefers
And so I dream, I hope for bliss
