How to Distinguish a Flower From a Frog

How does one distinguish a flower from a frog?
A frog isn't used much for play
And keeps the little girls at bay.
While a flower isn't quite so fun
to any mother's given son.
A frog has slime
Like a flower's color,
But a flower sits upon the pond,
And the frog upon the flower!
