Sleep

your breath rapid
as mine slows
For so long I've acted
While my heart was closed.

Your hand trails my back
My body crumbles
My mind gives some slack
As you slowly mumble.

Your fingertips jerk across my bare skin
I hold you tighter
The air quickly thins
As this fluttering takes me higher.

I become still
when you become restless
I can't explain the peace so real
I'm completely helpless.

My fear is set aside
When your face fades to dreams
My heart open wide
My potential bursts at the seams.

My mind is silent
When it's screamed for so long
I don't wake up crying
I no longer need a soft song.
