Dress Too Small and Ego Too Big

Before you go on insulting others
Look in the mirror and examine yourself
Your dress is too small, your ego too big
You've overdone the perfume, burnt your hair
The boys whistle and applaud you
And you take it as a compliment
Each day, the dress is getting shorter and shorter
Until they're all off, and you're in bed with some guy
The same one who would taunt you when you were younger
You don't think he's using you; you don't think at all
While he's thinking "This slut was easy, no work at all"
You think he'll remember the next day
While you don't even remember your last name
The things they taught you in health class
The words you always ignored
Will come to haunt you, when your alone
It will be dark and dreary, no one around
Except for drunken men "fooling" around
You'll be scared, you'll scream, but you're too weak
They'll touch you, rape you, only then you'll know
When your tainted and bruised
That you made a "mistake" and need to change your ways
You'll go back to mama, but she won't help you
In fact, she got rid of you when you were in high school
You've been wandering around for more than ten years
Thinking you were the best at everything; mostly sex and drinking beer
In another year, you'll have a child in your arms
You'll be on the streets, with no shelter, no food
And worst of all, you'll regret what you'll have to do
Sleep in the arms of other people
While your child waits in a soggy box
He'll be behind the dumpster, no diaper or blankie
Waiting for his mommy to rid of the tummy ache
And when you come back, you'll be looking down
For that day, you didn't earn, you weren't good enough
But for now there is time on your hands
Use it for good, otherwise you'll regret what you never had
