Eternal Love

I shed these tears as my heart is torn to shreds,
You lay here in my arms your life slowly leaving you,
“I love yo…”you never got to finish,
The light in your eyes died and so did I,
How? How do I go on without you,
I lie my body next to you hoping death would take me to,
But unfortunately he’s not that kind,
I watch them slowly lower you into the ground,
Wishing they would bury me to,
I am left to live in this world without you,
It hurts so much more than anyone knows,
The pain of losing you is too much to bear,
They find me in the bathroom,
My wrist a crimson red,
Life slowly leaving me,
Suddenly you are there surrounded in a golden light,
You took my hand in yours,
“Oh love it’s not time yet. You have to go back. I’ll be waiting here for you. Go and live for me the life I will never get to have.”
I wake up in a hospital bed and cry,
I cry knowing that it would be an eternity before I could see you again,
I live.,
Live the life you never got to live,
But I never loved again there was only you in my heart,
And in the end you were there with me,
“Can I let go now? Can we finally be together again? “I ask,
“Yes love you can let go, it’s time to rest, we will be together again for all of eternity.”
You take my hand and we walk into the light.
