A Simple Prayer

The sea is crawling,
over my skin.
It’s too cold,
I can never win.

The wind is blowing,
in my ears.
It’s too late,
no one cares.

The birds are flying,
over my head.
They’re too many,
I’ll soon be dead.

The sharks are swimming,
round and round.
They’re too scary,
I’ll never be found.

The stars are falling,
down at me.
They’re too sharp,
I can’t see.

The rain is whipping,
in my face.
It’s too hard,
I’ve lost my case.

The lightening strikes,
so very near.
It’s too light,
it’s soon here.

The hope is gone,
from my soul.
It’s gone too far,
they’ve reached their goal.

All I’ve got;
A Simple Prayer,
to take away,
my every fear...
