Expectations

so speak your ever present lies
but this heart is better safe then sorry
we sleep to the sound of melancholy
those eyes of yours stained in folly

child play your mischievous games
these lips satisfied or barely content
they dare not speak, you left them spent
these knees weary for you to repent

you and the hearts you daily consume
these baby brown eyes you love to taunt
those dreams of mine you choose to haunt
this body you ravish whenever you want

boy, you are damaged beyond repair
you are nothing but mediocre lies
oh how foolish you are to think you are wise
corroding this heart that you tantalize

but you will never change, i know
they weep and you are so unaffected
my eyes are cold but im left dejected
you sneer and shrug just as expected

you pull the strings of this brittle heart
caressing, touching.... creating frustration
this gentle sadness brings great desolation
those lips of yours are a false expectation
