Hell this hurts

Where as you stand there I lie
Down on the ground in a haze unrecognizable to an untrained eye
While above me a flurry of seemingly concerned noises break through the strange fog that had capsulated me and left me in this confused irrational state that had thus far been holding me captive against my will
I come into a foggy sense of realization I was hit hit hard
And in my unexplainable state I figure out what the pounding in my eye is
And one look into coaches rear view proves it
I have just been hit by a softball
