Aphrodite

Oh, how blessed I am to be
The half of the most beautiful soul
With lips shining diamonds at me
Singing my name in the small voice of gold

Gazing at me with each eye an eclipse
Dark, yet shining so bright
Brush my face with your gentle fingertips
Skin like a dove, soft and white

A fall of obsidian flowing so straight
A goddess standing so close to the ground
A gift to the world, but I am most fortunate
To have my words as your favorite sounds

And if there be in the sky a god
You’re living proof of a perfect job
