Heaven

In a land where time does not exist, and the rise and fall of the sun marks the days I’ve missed,
A brilliant display of light spreads as honey through mist.
The earth in all its vastness, in a sanctuary forged long before mankind’s contamination,
Gives way to impermeable refuge.
Refuge for the fallen- the ill of will,
The defeated and broken-
The damned-
But more importantly, those much like myself,
Who dreamt of placing a foot upon such a beacon,
And gently brushing eager hands across its delicacy.
Now, all that remains of this haven lies in memories-
And believers question Death’s paradise,
Never seeing the earth as it once was:
Heaven.
