One Small Nation

One small nation, forced into theocracy
Radio broadcasts and televised lies;

Big Brother’s watching you,
He knows where you live, he knows what you’ve done.
We know what you’re doing.
Bread, milk and butter? A new pair of shoes?
We know what you’re doing, each second of the day.

Take it easy, have a day off, too ill to work?
Online shopping? Streaming music videos?
Your secrets safe with us, we won't tell anyone.

Who do you think you are?
Dare you say no? Stand up against us?
We could destroy you, we know you fear us.

We’re not your slaves; you are not our master.
You can take away our sight, but you cannot take our voice.
You can steal from us our music, but you can never take it’s sound,
Even when it’s gone, we can sing, we can shout, we can scream and you will hear;
We will leave an impact, we will leave a message, we’re the voice of the voiceless,
We are the sound where silence is found.

You are no Orwell, we are not your subjects,
We will not be exiled, we will not be held.
You can’t contain us,
You can’t restrain us;
You can build a wall around us,
We’ll made that wall a sanctum, we’ll paint it bright, and write a message.
Tear us down, we’ll build back up.
You can pretend we don’t exist, but we are the voice of the voiceless.

Censor us, I dare you?

You can’t take away what has once been here;
You can hide it, you can tax it. Illegalize it, and criminalize it,
But we’ll still be here, you can’t take our voice, you can’t take our sound.

We are the Voice of the Voiceless, we are not some small nation.
Radio broadcasts and televised lies, that’s all it’ll ever be.
