I Don't Like What They See

I was alone,
Forgotten about,
My mind was struggling,
It was clouded with doubt.

There was so much I needed,
So much I needed to forget,
I had reached the bottom,
And I was full of regret.

But then you came,
You gave me your smile,
And I was happy,
Which I hadn't been for awhile.

You gave me your laugh,
You gave me your eyes too,
Through them I could see a better world,
I was with you.

You held my hand,
I felt warm,
You took me away from the dark,
But straight into a storm.

In that storm I lost my grip,
You were taken away,
I was once again alone
Waiting for a clear day.

When that clear day arrived,
I was again able to see,
I saw you holding hands,
With someone who wasn't me.

You took the things you gave me,
And you gave them all to her,
You left me with nothing,
It now hurts to remember.

So I try not to think,
I close my eyes,
I don't like the world they see,
The real one full of lies.
